Steering away from the modern traditional practices in pattern making, we have taken the time through research and running test trials to develop zero-waste pattern layouts to help you understand the basics so you can analyse and experiment on your own.
Although the process is not easy, the results are hugely rewarding!

Considering these methods will enlighten you to continue down the zero-waste route.

Our Vision

WorNotWasted had an epiphany about a sustainable future within the fashion industry. A world where the materials manufactured are valued.  A development in the thinking process of creative pattern cutting is shared with everyone. An environmentally friendly approach towards the fashion industry.

Starting with curiosity and education to obtain an understanding. Garments have the potential to be created without producing much waste. Through design practices and innovative use of technology techniques, these inventive methods can help zero-waste become more achievable to take the next steps to a sustainable future.

Sustainability 

An estimated 15-20% of raw garment materials through production get thrown away before arriving to the consumer. Producing materials requires valuable resources, time, and energy for the leftovers to be thrown away.

Why squander it?

With zero-waste designs, the fabric is utilised and put to good use preventing any unnecessary waste. 

Awareness

As the world is becoming more concerned about the damaging scene of fast fashion. WorNotWasted designs provides individual makers/designers an opportunity to contribute to slow fashion by creating unique garments.

Although there is an insufficient amount of information when learning about zero-waste designs. The power of online communication allows opportunities to expand our knowledge to help educate ourselves not to mention each other. The majority of the time, it is down to self-learning through trial and error.
